2010 Hairstyles Pictures

[+] The Fall and Winter 2009 hairstyles magazine entitled "Hair Preview 2010" is full of potential new 2010 hairstyles. There are photos of women's hair styles not just from America but also around the world. Indeed there is a strong international flavor because many of the pictures of new haircuts were taken in English-speaking countries such as the UK and Australia as well as in Europe. It is on sale until November 2009. You can buy it online, at a magazine rack, or at a bookstore. Hair Preview 2010 is 146 pages long, divided into 29 sections, and has 2,500+ styles

2010 Updo Hairstyles

What's the trend in formal hair this year? According to InStyle magazine (March 2010), the new updos have beads, color, and intricate swirls.

"The inventive styles that showed up on the spring runways brought a cool, chic vibe to the traditional chignon."

Look #1: "Embellished updo." "The beaded threads peeking out from Carolina Herrera's loose chignons look like spun-gold strands of hair."

Jennifer Aniston (40) on January 17

When you get to 40, you're supposed to have short hair, it seems like, but it's hard to imagine Jen cutting off her locks any time soon. She's quite conservative with respect to change, and she didn't like her short bob (the previous time it was short). Still, the last time she had a cool style was in 1995, so she may be ready for a new look.

Autumn Reaser (29) has a full and beautiful short hairstyle in this wonderful portrait. This was last night in West Hollywood at a celebration for the 100th episode of The Ghost Whisperer.

"It's dressy," says hairstylist Orlando Pita, "yet it still has an ease about it."

They look charming, creative and sophisticated; InStyle gives the eight-step process to get the style.

Look #2: "The rosette." It is twisty and cute. "Sleek chignons twisted to resemble little flowers at the 3.1 Phillip Lim show came across as both sweet and sophisticated."

Look #3: "The whirl." It's inspired by 1970s movies. It has unraveling topknots and was revealed on the fashion models at the Fendi fashion show. They said it looks like the ladies just rolled out of bed (it's messy). Yes, it does, but it also lacks creativity, so its messy configuration dominates the look too strongly. The back is completely up (it's pinned at the top), leaving your neck completely exposed.

Hairstylist Sam McKnight believes the style can be described as "soft sexiness." It's more haute couture than prêt-à-porter

Dee Wallace (61) has a very short new haircut with bangs. The mature blonde actress also changed her hair with a subtle red color. Her profile is blown out and sort of spiky for a creative chic look.

Look #4: "Burst of color." These are updos where the knots are tied together with ribbon such as satin. They are completely tightly woven, not hanging loose anywhere.

"Bold, bright strips added an unexpected, playful pop to 1960s-esque knotted ponytails at the Zac Posen fashion show."

This one could catch on with teen girls, including at prom. It doesn't look too girlie. You could match the satin ribbon in your hair with your prom dress color. Although they showed the ribbons in updos, you may consider a more romantic look to be loose ribbons in down or half-down styles.

InStyle notes you can buy hair ribbon at stores like mjtrim.com. (They offer 19 different styles in a wide assortment of colors.)

The magazine didn't offer any examples of celebrities wearing the updos it anticipates will be fashionable. It's still not clear which kinds if any they will pick.

Tiffani Thiessen (36) adorned with long hair. This appears to the longest she's ever had it. The pregnant star looks radiant; her first baby arrives in a few months.

Many of the top hairstylists were asked their opinion on what will be the most popular hairstyles in 2010. There are 17 pages of quotes and pictures of trend-setting stars.

The experts provided their ideas on both the kinds of haircuts we'll see in '10, plus which celeb ladies will be most influential. But they were not so bold as to predict which celebrities will be wearing what cuts.

Ironically, Jennifer Aniston is on the cover of the 2010 issue and Taylor Swift is the lead into the trend section--even though neither woman has changed her look recently and doesn't change her hair style very often. Maybe next year Jen will finally grace us with her first new hairstyle since 2006!

Is there a new celebrity hair color trend? The latest issue of Life & Style magazine notes "Stars go darker"; it gives four examples of recent hair color makeovers.

1) Britney Spears went from platinum to perfect. "Cholocate brown, like Britney Spears' new color, is a neutral shade," says celeb colorist Paul Cucinello, "so it's flattering on every skin tone." A poll on this site from a few years ago, however, revealed three out of every four women believe she looks better as a blonde. Brown, though, does make her look more mature.

2) Nicole Richie was blonde for several years but now she has dark brown hair. However, she still has her bangs; her basic style appears to be pretty much the same.

3) Kellie Pickler looks very different as a redhead! She puts off a completely new vibe. "Tone-on-tone highlights," L&S suggests, "make Kellie Pickler's ginger hair believable." People magazine's Style Watch website poll reveals two out of every three girls prefer her with blonde hair. A few new images suggest Kellie has tried a few different shades of red from a dull red to a brighter color.

Who's that girl? Hint: she was on American Idol. How do you like Katharine McPhee's new short hairstyle!? The gorgeous brunette with long hair recently, chopped it all off, and dyed it blonde!

Katharine McPhee blonde and short is the most extreme celebrity hair makeover of the year. Big color change + big length change. These pictures are hot out of the camera from November 22, 2009.
