Round Face Shapes: Best and Worst Hairstyles
You have to be careful with bobs on a round face. Your head can appear rounder with a cut that's all one length or that falls at the jawline or above it. Your best bet is the uber-popular "long bob." Long bobs are usually at least 2 inches longer than the jawline and flatter a round face because of the length.
Be careful with curls if you have a round face. Extremely curly hair can accentuate roundness. If you have curly hair, grow hair so that when it's dry it is longer than your chin. Cut in layers so it doesn't get fluffy and you don't end up with a "triangle" look where the ends poof out like a Christmas tree.
I recommend looking for a stylist who specializes in cutting curly hair (curly hair is great when cut dried, so the stylist can see where the curls naturally fall). The stylist may need to thin out your hair to tame the fullness. You may also consider straightening your hair or taming your curls into waves with the help of relaxers and curling irons
Short hair is usually a no-no on round faces because it can accentuate the roundness of a face. But this cut on Michelle Williams works on a round face.
While Michelle Williams' soft curls in the preceding picture were flattering to her round(ish) face, the last thing you want to do if you have a round face is add fullness to the sides of your head. If you have curly hair, cut in layers to weigh it down and make sure to grow it a couple inches or more below your chin.
Unlike girls with long faces, you round girls can grow your hair long. Long hair elongates a round face and can be more flattering than short cuts. Just avoid going all one length. Make sure you cut in some layers around your face to add definition.
Both Kate Bosworth and Stella McCartney (pictured here) have classic round faces. However, Kate models a great hairstyle for her face shape. Her soft waves complement her face, whereas McCartney's hard ponytail only manages to show off all her facial flaws. Few women can get away with wearing their hair slicked back into a ponytail.
love this look on Heidi Klum, which would look awesome on women with round faces. Shoulder-length hair is flattering on all face shapes because it's not too long and it's not too short. See more shoulder-
Combat frizzy hair with Ojon Conditioning Finishing Paste Drew Barrymore, a classic round face, has had many haircuts and colors over the years and this is one of her most flattering looks. This is a great formal look for a wedding, prom or holiday gathering.

Short haircuts are tricky on round faces because many short cuts add width to the sides of the face -- a no-no for round faces. Avoid jaw-length bobs if you have a round face, especially if you were also blessed with a short neck. Any blunt cut at the chin will accentuate roundness.
